HOBBIES
HOBBIES

Even though I am committed and dedicated to my education I always try to spend quality time with my family and friends, trying to enjoy the little things and pursuing my passions.  I am constantly looking to learn more from the world, from new cultures, new languages and traveling all over I feel achieves some of that.

I am also very focused on work, and even though I treasure free time, when I get into a project or a work opportunity comes up, I enjoy diving in fully and trying to achieve the best possible result.

EXPERTISE
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
ROOKIE PREVIEW

The objective for students in the Professional Sales class during Spring 2017 was practicing and refining skills in role-playing as well as needs assessment videos in order to sell Salesforce CRM to a company. At the end of the semester, I was able to demonstrate my sales skills to buyers and judges from top companies in the DFW area. In the award dinner and ceremony, I was recognized for being a top 10 in both the Top SSI Score, as well as the Overall Win.

Takeaways: This project allowed me to get a real-world sales experience and feedback from corporate judges successful within their fields allowing me to improve my sales techniques. It helped me improve and gain a better understanding of the best practices for negotiating a deal and close a sale.

BUSINESS STRATEGIC GAME

In BSG, students are placed in a competition against students from all over the world based on their simulations with their companies. Students are judged on Overall Score, Earnings per Share, and Return on Average Equity. I placed 19th globally in ROE in this competition securing a mention as a Top 25 participant. I managed an athletic footwear company with worldwide distribution, always maintaining it competitive and generating a better return for shareholders than other students in the game.

Takeaways: The Business Strategy Game allow me to experience what it takes to develop winning strategies in a globally competitive marketplace. Additionally, it allowed me to experience first-hand the business risks, and impacts of global exchange rate fluctuations.

BOOTS STRAPPED PROJECT

In this project, my group worked closely with top companies like Southwest Airlines in an effort to help US Armed Forces Veterans that due to effects of their service are unfortunately found at higher risk of being homeless.  This project will provide shelter to veterans with unique services such as IT workshops, counselors, therapists, interviewing practice workshops, resume workshops, and financial advisors. We began from the ground up, researching the cause of why these veterans were more likely to be homeless and were able to help them by coming up with solutions.

Takeaways: This project greatly refine my presentation skills, that improved my overall confidence as a presenter.  There was wonderful teamwork and left with a sense of accomplishment due to the great collaboration with my team.
